This is really interesting, and very well written. It has the foreboding sense that can only occur when something truly epic and too big to assign morality to one way or the other is about to happen. Like the rumours of Roosevelt knowing about Pearl Harbour in advance, and letting it happen, because he knew it would get America off its arse and into the War.
Smells like a coming storm...
